I remember my father having this album in his record collection along with Woodstock, Frank Sinatra, Elvis and The Beach Boys. After meeting with other collectors, they shared that their Fathers all had this album too. I don’t know if it was Herb Alpert’s trumpet or the woman covered only in whipped cream that caused 6 million dads to buy this album in 1965. Either way, once you listen to it you will be reminded of the 60’s. The songs from this album were featured on game shows like the dating game and the bachelorette. Herb Alpert is an amazing artist as much as the is a musician so it was with much respect that I decided to have some fun with this album cover. I recreated the whipped cream with multiple layers of yarn that was stitched directly through the album. The groovy title and song listings were created as a patch and collaged onto the album.
