This album was the first I had purchased by Sammy Hagar. This album came out a few years before he joined Van Halen and before his biggest hit “I Can’t Drive 55.” This was selected as a custom piece from one of my major collectors. The album cover features Sammy rocking out inside of a mouth with red lips being the prominent feature of the album. I started by stitching Sammy using about 20 colors of thread in an abstract stitch style. I then used red glitter fabric as an appliqué for the lips and added shading on top of the lips in multiple colors to accent the details in the lips. The logo and album title were created as patches and mounted at the end.
