    Creating the Cry of Love album was another natural choice. The stylized portrait of Jimi Hendrix just screamed embroidery to me. I have been creating embroideries in a sketch like style for many years and had just started creating them on album covers. Embroidery sketching is when I trace each thread over an existing image except I don’t stop to trim the thread, the design is created in one continuous line. Just like you would trace something with a pencil and never lift the pencil off of the paper. I created this piece with 24 layers of thread. The first two layers in thin rayon thread and the top two layers in thicker wool thread.
