Quilted Butterfly

A true textural delight that marries soft geometry with natural, winged grace. This artwork utilizes delicate lace and vintage silk in a beautifully padded appliqué technique, giving the central butterfly an incredibly tactile, three-dimensional feel. Carefully stitched in limited batches of each unique fabric, its wings are elegantly finished with a luscious white gold thread trim. The foundation of the piece is a luxury bag or box, deconstructed and embroidered. The quilted butterfly is mounted in deep relief on this background.
