Embroidery stitched directly through a vinyl record sleeve.
12x12x2 inches, framed in acrylic.
Lemonade was a challenge because of all of the textures presented on the album cover, but perfect for embroidery. I started by using abstract wool stitches for the blurred background portions of the album cover. For the coat itself I digitized over 100,000 individual stitches in 8 colors of wool thread. The final detail was the hair which was another 25,000 stitches. The title was stitched as a a patch and added later.
