The Hamsa is an ancient symbol that represents protection and good fortune. The background for this 12” size is made using strips of luxury bags or boxes that are embroidered directly through to create a surface design and then collaged together. The Hamsa itself is fully embroidered with over 30 colors of thread and over 150,000 stitches. When completed, the Hamsa is mounted in relief over the background.
