The El Dorado piece was inspired by steer skulls that I've seen on my travels across the southwest. I have always loved the embellishment on them and decided to create one for the studio. The canvas was created by using up-cycled, embroidered shopping bags to create the background. The skull itself is created by layering, appliquéing an embroidering Hèrmes scarves. The scarves are all outlined in metallic gold thread. The horns are created as separate elements and then wrapped in ribbon, cording and authentic turquoise beading. The feathers are fully embroidered as well and are adorned with beads and stones. El Dorado is available in multiple color combinations.
