Embroidery stitched directly through a vinyl record sleeve.
12x12x2 inches, framed in acrylic.
The self-titled Whitesnake album was released in 1987 and with this album they exploded into a worldwide phenomenon. They had been around for quite a while when this album was released but with hits like “Here I Go Again” and “Is this Love” they started filling large arenas. I remember seeing them live on this tour and the show was amazing. The album features the WhiteSnake seal on a marble wall background. I started by stitching the background with multiple colors of abstract rayon thread. The seal was created as a patch with multiple layers of rayon and metallic thread. I was very satisfied with the level of detail in the patch, which was mounted onto the album at the end.
The albums take up to 8 hours to embroider and can contain over 200,000 stitches. The series is created and designed to be hung together so you can add to your installation wall as you discover new pieces I create. Each of the albums comes with a signed certificate and is framed in acrylic and measures 12" x 12" x 2".
