There are no music fans who grew up in the 70’s or the 80’s who weren’t fans of the Clash, each of their 6 studio albums were unique and musically different, the Clash merged punk, rock and roll and pop to truly create a unique sound. London Calling is my favorite Clash album so it was the first of their albums that I wanted to embroider. The graphics for the album are based on a self titled Elvis album from the 1950’s with a striking black and white image with graphic lettering down the side, The Elvis album was the first one of his a that I created as well. I decided to use bold strokes of yarn embroidery to create both graphics and the typography on this piece.
