Cherry Pie was Warrant’s second album and the title song is probably one of the most enduring anthems from the heavy metal era. Along with Def Leppard’s Pour Some Sugar on Me, Cherry Pie is always popping up in movies and tv shows. The video features model Bobbi Brown and the band dancing in a video that exemplifies all of the excesses of the Heavy Metal genre. The album cover features Bobbi Brown dressed as a waitress on roller skates dropping a piece of cherry pie that is photographed at the exact moment it passed in front of her midsection. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the innuendo of the photograph. The background consists of the band’s name and album title in bold impact typography. I started by embroidering a step and repeat pattern of cherries in white thread over the white background to give the white areas some texture. I then used glitter fabric to stitch the lettering in shades of black and silver. The trickiest part of this album was stitching a cartoon version of Bobbi Brown which I did using over 30 colors of rayon thread. The cherries featured on the cover were embroidered as patches also and were all mounted onto the cover as a final step.
