     Are You Experienced was Jimi Hendrix’s debut album that was released in 1967. The album was an instant commercial and critical success and over the years has sold over 5,000,000 copies. As a guitar player growing up, Jimi Hendrix was a huge inspiration and I probably wore out multiple copies of this album trying to learn every song. Since the album cover was created in a psychedelic style with fish eye lens photography and bubble letters I decided to do something psychedelic. I created the album art using four color process threads. Essentially the entire album was stitched in cyan, magenta, yellow and black with the lettering created separately, hand trimmed and mounted later. The different thread colors mold and intertwine together to create a psychedelic overlay.
