This is by far my favorite Grateful Dead album cover. Terrapin Station was released in 1977 and was the Grateful Dead's ninth studio album. The album featured a few of their hits, as well as the song Terrapin Station which is the whole second side of the album. The album features an old time train station with two turtles dancing and playing the banjo. I thought the scene was perfect for embroidery so I recreated the album cover with over 50 colors of hand digitized thread in over 75,000 stitches. The two turtles were created as a patch using rayon thread and mounted in relief to stand out from the background.
