This piece was inspired by love of pop art and artists like Roy Lichtenstein. The Kaboom Bubble is the perfect showcase for a detailed print on a luxury scarf. I started the piece by embroidering the background with stitching, appliqué half-tone dots and classic explosion rays, reminiscent of vintage comic books. Once I chose the scarf it is appliquéd in the bubble with embroidery and padding. The bubble was then mounted in relief off of the background. Each of these pieces are unique and created custom for each different scarf that is chosen.
