Frampton comes alive is probably one of the biggest selling live albums of all time with over 8,000,000 units sold in the United States alone. Everyone I knew growing up had this album and it was a staple on FM radio for years. This album was in the first grouping of albums that I started working on about a year before they were seen by the public. It is one of the few double albums I have created so far and one of the trickiest. The album art features Peter Frampton holding his Les Paul guitar, the problem is that the photograph is out of focus with purple and pink lights shining behind him. The imagery is cool but stitching on top of it was difficult. I embroidered the whole double album in lightly stitched free motion wool thread in about 40 different colors. The end result is a hazy embroidery that perfectly suits the image. This is the only double album that I have created so far that sits vertically.

The albums take up to 8 hours to embroider and can contain over 200,000 stitches. The series is created and designed to be hung together so you can add to your installation wall as you discover new pieces I create. Each of the albums comes with a signed certificate and is framed in acrylic and measures 12" x 12" x 2".
