     X was Ed Sheeran’s second album and when I started to take notice of him. I instantly became a huge fan of his writing and musicianship. What surprised me was his age and how old he was when he wrote this album in 2014, he was 23. Then I think back to some of my favorite songwriters like Bruce Springsteen who wrote Born to Run at the age of 26. I think over time Ed Sheeran will wind up among the greats like Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and Bob Dylan. The album cover is very graphic. A lime green background with a large black X. I wanted to experiment with hand dyed yarn with this piece so I started by stitching a contour pattern in green dyed yarn over the green background. I then used an abstract stitch pattern in black yarn over the X to mimic the original style.
