For this version I wanted to create something completely different. The original album cover obviously had the banana on it, what most people don’t realize is that the banana itself was a decal and the decal was placed over a pink banana, when you find the vintage albums often times the original decal is missing. I decided to start by embroidering banana wallpaper in the background in white thread and then stitching the pink banana directly through the album cover. I then created a patch of the yellow banana peel and affixed it to the album cover, sculpturally peeling the banana peel back. The text was then created as patches and mounted in place. This turned out to be the most sculptural of all of the album covers once it was completed.
