Stephen Wilson took this category even more personal by reminiscing where his career started, in a rock band based out of NJ in the 80s. This is another album that is guaranteed to be in every rock and roll fan's collection. The album was recorded mostly in founder Tom Scholz’s basement and went on to sell over 17,000,000 copies. When you listen to other rock albums from this time period nothing sounds like Boston. The vocals of Brad Delp were layered and the harmonies are like nothing ever created before or since. The album contained the hits “More Than a Feeling” “Piece of Mind” Rock and Roll Band” and many others. The album is still played on the radio and has always been a personal favorite of mine. The graphic features a painting of a fleet of guitar city space ships leaving an exploding planet. I started by stitching the background of the album and the exploding planet in free motion wool thread. The idea was to create a texture and depth in the background. Then I proceeded to create the largest patch I have embroidered to date. The guitar city as an enormous amount of detail with over 50 colors of rayon thread and over 100,000 stitches. The patch adds even more dimension to the piece and seems to float over the background when finished.
