Miles Davis is a jazz icon that went through a lot of different musical phases during his storied career. From traditional jazz to explosive jazz fusion. For my first Miles Davis album I chose Bitches Brew, his 1970 release. The album cover is a painting with multiple focal points. There is a couple on the beach, swirling clouds, a giant flower and a face in profile. I embroidered the whole cover using wool thread in varying stitch lengths and densities. The album title was created as a gradient patch and mounted onto the album.

The albums take up to 8 hours to embroider and can contain over 200,000 stitches. The series is created and designed to be hung together so you can add to your installation wall as you discover new pieces I create. Each of the albums comes with a signed certificate and is framed in acrylic and measures 12" x 12" x 2".
